This week is snowed here in Alberta. Usually we are safe after the Victoria Day long weekend, but this year instead of warm weather and flowers we had cold, wind, and about 3 inches of snow. It was about 20+ on friday, and also warm on saturday, so I think quite a few people got lulled into a false sence of security and planted their gardens.
I hope they dont have to dig up too many frozen annuals. |

In other news I bought some new product from some really awesome bath and body stores. First I bought some sweet smellying, smelly things from Bath and Body Works (my first time there), and I also bought some new make-up from Saphora (also my first time there). It was an awesome spring day smelling things. ;]
I think I might try and work on my website tonight. It may end up being like my fish tank. I keep putting it off, and feel guilty for not cleaning it more often. |

| All Weekend Long |

Ok. New stuff going on.
All weekend long I have been catching up on a variety of things.

2.My website is going through the update machine as well, and it has lots of new artworks (mostly paintings). Plus I am going through other updates of various kinds, to different ares of the site. Its a little out of sorts, but not too bad.
3.I have a new laptop! So I have one more reason to tear out my hair with all the paperwork, and files and programs comin out of everywhere.
4.My gallery, Gallery IS, will be moving to a new location in the last week of March, so I will be working a lot over there dealing with renos, to the new space, and other related stuffs.
5.There are not enough hours in the day. Period.

In 2009 I have set myself a challenge. Inspired by the "painting a day", I will be working on 7 pieces of artwork every week, of every month this year. These pieces will primarily be miniatures, ranging from aceo's (2.5x3.5) to 5x7 inch canvas's. If I am painting in a series I may sneak some larger sizes in there. Expect paintings and drawings.
I will be blogging about my progress, and showing off the completed works. I wont be posting everyday, but as often as I can.

It was totally unconsious. CKUA has a great Jazz program that I listen too while at work, and then I must continue on throughout the day.

OMG! I have gone totally crazy with the buying of the dvd's. I have added 12 movies and 8 seasons of various tv shows to the collection.

I sit here waiting for snow. Most people would think that living in the heart of Canada, in the middle of snow country, I wouldnt have to wait for long. Normally I would think the same thing. Over the last 5 years or so (mabey longer) the effects of global weather change have made a great impact on the "normal" patterns. When I was a kid, it was expected that you would have to go Trick-or-treating in your warmest snow suit. In the last few years I cant expect anything. It could snow in December or January. It could be +10c or -20c, or windy, or sunny, or freezing rain, or just plain rain. Rain? RAIN! In the winter!? This is an entirely new experience.
Being an Albertan, I am very used to the changes in season. I am ready for every one when it comes along. In the summer I am looking forward to all that means, and when November rolls around I am ready for snow. Im still waiting and im not happy about it. |

My plans include watching scary movies with my friends, and going to a haunted house. I wish I could do more but for some reason I never have the time to get my act together at the end of October. Usually im working, which really isnt fair. I think everyone should have the day off. |

| More New in the Shop |

Lots more new artworks are now in my Etsy shop.
In particular are 4 of my very newest paintings. They are local birds set onto a Klimpt (art nouveau) background. I think they are special. :)
There are also many many new ACEO's. I have been producing these in spades .. somewhat in preparation of a project I will be doing next year. You have to wait to hear about that though.
There is still more artwork coming so stay tuned. Keep your ear to the ground. I'll send smoke signals.

I entered one of Saatchi Gallery Online's "Showdown" competitions. I need many, many people to vote for my painting, give it a TEN! :)

The gallery is in London, England and if I win I can get $1000.00 sterling, and have my painting featured in the gallery itself. I think I would like that very much. Exposure in London ... whats not to like.

There is a bit of a nip to the air. Im soooo ready for fall .... sweaters, mmmmmmmmmmmm. I am trying to hold off my rampant Halloweenyness for just a little longer. I find that by the time a holiday actually comes around I have done all my holiday stuff and moved on (mood wise). I want to try and hold on to the fall/Halloween feeling for as long as possible.
One of my favorite shows, Stargate Atlantis, was cancelled. I am a bit ticked off my this, but its hard to feel the sorrow when I wont get to see the final season untill 2 years from now. We are so far behind here in Canada. Bloody England gets to see the show before we do. They are made in freaking Canada for kripes sake! I want Space to start producing some of these shows.
I am totally geaking out and giddy right now. I just saw the new posters for Star Trek. I cant tell you how excited I am for this movie. Its going to be really good!
In other news, Erika is busy! What else is new. How can I possibly be this busy and still this poor?! There is no equality in my life. |

ok. so im thinking it may be time to join the 21st century of commercialism and start selling prints from my artwork. i can sign up on deviant art with their print program, which seems pretty decent, and give it a try.
i have always had a love/hate relationship with prints. i think that they are a great way for people to have an artists work without paying big bucks, but at the same time i would rather sell originals (and my originals are not over priced by any means). so the dilema. i know of a lot of artists that are supplimenting their income through print sales to a large degree. i deffinately need some supplimentation.
i thought of starting out with prints from my red lantern ink series. they seem to be the most popular of my images (at lease on deviant).
would anyone pay 25.00 for a print of my work? |
